Christians must guard against narrowing the person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ to being Saviour only. Jesus was the “no ordinary child” of Isaiah 9 and while we celebrate His cross-work and resurrection, we also honour His kingly place. He is the King of Kings and His rule will eventually reach to the totality of all creation. But this rule and reign begins with us - He rules and reigns in us so that we become the best advance notice that the Kingdom has indeed come.
